Masks and Mascots is at it again—welcome to our 2025 Student-Led Food Drive! This year, we're on a mission to double our donations and make an even greater impact in our community.

Our drive is in full swing, running through April 2025, and thanks to the generosity of individuals, families, and local organizations, we’ve already raised nearly $1,000 in donations! A huge shoutout to the Goddard School of Schaumburg and the Amazon Station in Palatine for all your incredible contributions—your support means everything!

More families than ever are facing food insecurity right here in Cook County, and local food pantries rely on donations to operate and keep their shelves stocked. Every single can of soup, every box of cereal, every donation makes a difference.

This year we launched a student-run food drive to combat food scarcity in our local community. We met with local food pantries to understand what items they needed most, and we learned how deeply they rely on donations to help people in need!

Food Scarcity is a growing problem that more and more families are facing. It’s estimated that 1 in 4 children in Cook County alone is now at risk of Food Scarcity. Not having enough food is scary, and it presents numerous risks, especially to children.

We contacted local organizations hosting events and reached out to our family and friends to request donations and volunteers. A special thanks to Fremd Choir, Harper College Early Childhood Laboratory School, and Rapid Delivery Solutions at Amazon’s Palatine Station. When all of us give a few cans of soup from our pantries or buy an extra box of cereal from the grocery store—it sure does add up!
